Feeling Off but Not Sure Why? It Could Be Perimenopause or Menopause.

Menopause doesn’t look the same for everyone. And it rarely starts with just hot flushes or night sweats. Many women experience unexpected symptoms that are often misattributed to stress, ageing, or other health conditions.

Have you noticed any of the following symptoms?

  • Aching joints or tight muscles that seem to appear out of nowhere
  • Tingling skin or electric shock sensations
  • Night-time heart palpitations or disrupted sleep
  • Changes in body odour, new allergies or sensitivities
  • Burning mouth, metallic taste, or dental issues
  • Bloating, cramping, or gut changes that don't add up
  • Vision changes or gritty, dry eyes
  • Low libido, or painful sex

There are over 40 recognised menopause symptoms — and many women experience them long before their periods stop. Understanding what’s happening and getting the right support can make all the difference.

  • What should prompt me to book a consultation?

While GP’s do an amazing job (if I do say so myself). Most GP’s are not trained specifically in menopause care. A menopause specialist has undergone advanced training from the British Menopause Society (BMS).

Private consultations also offer the advantage of dedicated time—your appointment lasts 40 minutes, allowing us to explore your symptoms thoroughly without feeling rushed, and giving you plenty of opportunity to ask questions.
